Debbie Gastler, Class President
Dear Smith Classmates,
I wanted
to take a moment of your time to introduce your new class officers and our
new class website. I also want to solicit
feedback on reunion while it is still fresh for those who attended and
still on your minds for those who did not attend.
Thanks to Jan Carhart, we have a wonderful class website -
www.smith75.org -- complete with photo
albums, community message boards, a class directory, favorite links,
classmates own personal and professional links, and much more. You can even
submit news for Quarterly Class Notes directly to Lyn Magness, our
class secretary, and pay class dues using a credit card through the website.
Several pages, including the message boards and class directory, are
contained in a secure section. Please register through the website the first
time you visit, and you will be sent the necessary username and password by
email. We hope it will be easy enough to use so that we will be better able
to share news and ideas and be in touch between our reunions. Please let us
know what you think or what would make it better for you.

My thanks
to Robin Katz for putting together such a wonderful slate and to Beth Wessel,
our past president for doing a terrific job the last five years. Fortunately
for all of us, they both volunteered to be planned giving co-chairs so that
they could stay involved with our class and officer group for the next five
years as well.
I also
would like to extend thanks, for myself and on behalf of the class, to the
outgoing group of officers, especially Andy Acker Strone and her group of
volunteers for all their hard work in making reunion a success, Jane Howard
for keeping us in the black, Beverly Tomb and Ann Mitchell for their
hospitality and successful fundraising efforts and Karen Moore for keeping
us well apprised of our classmates’ thoughts and events. . . .
